6th Miyamoto Saburo Award for Original Sketch - Application Guidelines

Competition
Objective
Komatsu Biennale 2021: 6th Miyamoto Saburo Award for Original Sketch “Pioneering New Expressions”

The forms derived from pen strokes can express the artists’ thoughts and beliefs, while revealing a broad range of unique possibilities. Miyamoto Saburo, who was known as a master of sketching, once said “Even a mere sheet of paper and a humble stick of charcoal is more than enough to begin successfully capturing the essence of a subject.” Whether through sketching or otherwise, this competition arose as a way to seek rich artistic expressions. We seek to push the limits of expression from the very first stroke; discovering fresh techniques and creativity that carve the path towards the future.
